I have a few inlines and play with them for my sons and Grandson to hunt with. I have tried a bunch of different bullet / sabot combo's and the Cheap shots seem to be very good and cheap. Loose powder is all i use in them and my flinters. They have done well with this set up over the few years that we used it. Have you tried them ?
Never tried the Cheap Shots but I have experimented with a lot of different sabot/bullet combinations and below is a good one. You can buy the individual components resulting in an economical and deadly load for most fast twist 1-28 inline barrels. The 300 grain .452 Hornady XTP bullet housed in a Black MMP HPH12 sabot will cut holes once you find the proper powder load. For years Hornady .452cal SSTs came with MMP HPH-12 sabots, MMPs tightest fitting sabot. Shockwaves always came with HPH-24s..a sabot that was approx 0.002 SMALLER than the HPH-12. I would try the HPH-12 first as it fits best in most barrels. If you try the high quality polymer based MMP sabot you will never look back. If you're into hot loads they will not give way as some other sabots do. The below grouping was out of a Green Mountain 1-28 twist barrel.
