Good day at our camp too Dutch...No deer but time spent with the boy on a beautiful Fall day... Did catch a bobcat on the cam!... a first for us in Michaux. Enjoy the rest of the weekend and savor every minute of it!

Had I known yinz were up, could've stopped and annoyed ya a bit on my way home today. Probably about 12:30 when I rolled past there.
Went up Tuesday morning, came back today. Beautiful weather first four days. 65 or so, 38 to 40 nights. Most days not a cloud to be seen. Got some staining done on the cabin siding and a few other pre-winter chores taken care of. Gathered more fire wood, mostly cut up dead apple trees out near the hay field.
Was gonna take the bow out this morning, raining when I got up. Feet are so sore from working on ladders for several days, probably would've fallen down trying to get to a stand? As usual, deer up the whazoo around there, but only saw a few bucks driving around at dusk. Usual cruise Thursday at dusk, 89 deer out and one really good buck.
Farmers are just now in the corn fields and some are pretty muddy yet. One place not far from camp, has about 150 acres in corn. Tri axles and one semi dump trailer, steady hauling silage off'n that hill for two days. Drove up there Thursday to see where they were coming from, guessed right. Same fields that were in corn several years ago and still standing on opening day of rifle deer. Locals said they chased a huge mess of deer in and out of that corn all day.
I forgot how big those fallfish get in Big Pine. Most of locals called them whitefish when I lived up that way. I knew a few old timers that ate them when they were caught in the cold water at the beginning trout season.
